Double Bill Comedy coming to Hope Street Theatre

An exciting double bill is hitting the stage on the 16th, 17th and 18th November 2023. The Hope Street Theatre will house Marigold Lately and her hilariously ‘not funny’ one-woman show. You can watch both Dirty Old Town and Scouse farce, Out The Woodwork all in one performance.

For dark comedy lovers, this storytelling Scouse comedy will serve up twist after twist. Local actors, Mikyla Jane Durkan and Lee Clotworthy have collaborated and produced a special and unique taste to the Liverpudlian theatre scene. The one woman show begins with Dirty Old Town, an ‘absurdly dark place’ in which the characters are presented in a multitude of ways. The show is said to drip venom and tenderness in equal measure. Marigold Lately has been in attendance of some of Liverpool and Manchester’s most popular comedy destinations such as The Hot Water Comedy Club, Fem de la Femme and A Lovely Word. Don’t miss this opportunity to laugh out loud to a local legend.

Gingerlee Does It (Lee Clotworthy) presents Out Of The Woodwork, a reflection of Scouse humor and working-class roots. It follows the story of a recently divorced, Pat. Pat has since won £30 million on the lottery whilst having a girly night in with her mates. The problem? The news has since spread and her world has done a complete 360.

The writers, producers, and actors are very much looking forward to this double-whammy performance and are ready to push the boundaries of the Liverpool theatre scene.

Stay tuned for our Plug-In Feature where we speak to both creatives about this Double bill Show.
