We had the opportunity to get a special inside look at one of the plays that is featured, Welcome Dominic Quinns Entry Kill, Boom, Stop and Run.

Dominic Quinn, a versatile actor stepping into the arena of writing for the first time,  Dominic has a theatrical background with recent notable performances at the Everyman in productions like 'The Crown Duels' and 'Be You Living or Be You Dead.' With a passion for original Liverpool based theatre, His writing goal is to get more original Liverpool based theatre out in the open.

His latest work, Kill, Boom, Stop and Run, is Dominic's entry into the What Happens Next Competition. The story focuses around Davo and Jonjo, longtime friends embarking on their annual camping trip. However, the shadow of grief hangs heavy as they still grapple with the recent loss of a close friend, making it challenging for them to connect.

As the story progresses, audiences are drawn into a whirlwind of emotions, navigating the battle of grief, encountering strange characters, and facing the sudden threat of death lurking around every corner. The supposedly peaceful Wirral "holiday" transforms into a life altering journey for Davo and Jonjo, forever changing the dynamics of their friendship.

As well as grief, the play explores friendship, mystery and comedy. For the characters, Dominic told us: 'The Wirral Man to his core is Tranmere Rovers fanatic, and a regular piss head in his day-to-day life. Unfortunately for him he has stumbled upon the wrong person at the wrong moment, leaving him physically injured, delirious, and starved for an escape out of The Wirral Woods'

'Phoenix is a larger-than-life character, he lives for the vibe and travels to see many places that pique his interest. One of those spots is New Brighton'.

But what does Dominic hope to get from the competition?

'My hope was to work with some great professionals and thankfully I’ve found that in, Sophie our great director and the wonderful cast of Adam, Harry and Jason. The icing on top now is just to show off the best show possible and potentially get through to the final'

Dominic is hoping audiences will be able to take something from each character, the themes and enjoy the small chunk of what the story is saying and ultimately, he wants audiences to ask ‘What Happens Next?
