Special Plug-In:Dandilicious

After it’s successful run on the film festival circuit, Dandilicious, considered a cult classic amongst many in the film industry, is being distributed and released on Amazon Prime in the UK & USA on April 4th 2024.

Dandilicious is a Stylized Neo-Western about a Teddy Boy in 1959. Our hero (or anti-hero), Marty, is living the life of a public menace within his own town. Getting into fights and causing disruption on the streets, Marty is the 'King of the Teds' - or is he?

This ambitious feature film was written, produced, and directed by Andrew Games, who also stars in the film as Marty, the notorious Teddy Boy. Production commenced in 2018, followed by a delay in 2020 due to the global pandemic. Completed in 2021, Dandilicious toured the film festivals, and was seen around the world in various countries such as England, Wales, Germany, France, Sweden, Holland, Greece, Italy, United States, and many others. The film was so successful on the festivals, it had been offered special screenings which extended its festival run for another 2 years.

Over the course of the festival run, the film earned many awards and accolades, including Best Feature Film, Best Indie Film, Best Drama, and individual awards going to David McKeown for Best Cinematography, Jade Mark for Best Actress, and Andrew Games earning various awards for Best Director, and Best Actor.

After its film festival success, Games has been considered as an ‘indie darling’ by many of his contemporaries in the world of indie filmmaking, and has been recognised, alongside the film, by the likes of the BBC and the Radio Times, as well as being celebrated by the Rock’n’roll communities for his contribution to the Teddy Boy subculture.

This morning, we spoke to Andrew Games after last night's trailer release. He said

“It’s been a long time coming. I know everyone has worked very hard on this film, in front and behind the camera. I think its time for everyone involved to receive the recognition they deserve”. He commented further, “Though the film is my baby, its important for me to stress that everyone has a piece of this film, and they have ownership of it just as much as I do. It wasn’t a production; it was a community”.

After a year of looking for distribution, Dandilicious will finally be curated and available on Amazon Prime, a mainstream platform that is accessible and available at your very fingertips on your smart devices. The film will be available to the public in the UK & USA on 4th April 2024 for audiences to either buy or rent.
