Plug-In: SUS

If you are as old as me you may remember the SUS laws. These gave the police powers to stop and search and potentially arrest people on flimsy suspicion. Effectively it was used by institutionally racist police forces in the late 1970s and early 1980s to harass young black men and led to many wrongful arrests, antagonism, riots and protests.

Liverpool Irish Festival: Double Bill At Leaf

This week, I witnessed something quite powerful. Two one-person shows performed by two extraordinary actors; one from Dublin and one from Belfast. Both acted, directed, written, and produced by the actors themselves, which is no small feat!

The first play was "A Bolt from D'Blue," by David Gilna, and the second was "For the Love of Mary" by Mel Bradley. The Leaf is the perfect space to host these delicate stories of longing and belonging. It's cozy, candlelit, with leather sofas and a small bar to the side. Both actors were understated in their performances, delivering true, natural storytelling.

Winners Of This Years Fringe!

After an action-packed two weeks of fun-filled Fringe Theatre, I enjoyed a lovely evening schmoozing with fellow Thespians and celebrating our collective achievements. About 'The Creative Wire': it's about plugging plays, the rehearsal process, podcasts, promoting shows, writers, actors, and directors. It's all free, apart from the complimentary theatre ticket for reviews. All run by fellow creatives. I already had some inquiries after the speech, which was absolutely fabulous! One of whom was a winner this year.

We are now hosting tickets for Studio Three

My ultimate goal for The Creative Wire was to become the go-to platform for creatives, and slowly but surely, we are getting there. With the array of different features we provide, I am now thrilled to announce that The Creative Wire has partnered with Studio Three at Arts Bar, Hope Street, to become their official ticket provider.

This collaboration is a significant milestone for my little company, especially considering we launched the platform just under four months ago. This decision came after I departed from my original platform, Opening Nights (very long story)
