Our First Successful Mix Up!

Sunday marked our first mix-up event, and I couldn't be happier with the response we received. It's safe to say that this was the best networking event I've organised so far. The mixer was not only enjoyable but also  informative. It was refreshing to see new faces, especially those who are new to both the city and our creative scene in Liverpool.

These nights are important for me because I'm a firm believer in the power of networking. The more creatives you connect with and collaborate with, the better your journey becomes. Personally, investing time in networking has made a massive difference, eliminating many nightmares along the way. 7 years ago I entered the scene without knowing anyone, but over the years, I've built a network of contacts. Now, my goal is to motivate other creatives to get out there, get themselves known, and start building their own networks like I did many moons ago.

The mix-up isn't just a gathering of creatives for a few drinks. It’s a prime opportunity to navigate the room and build connections. In the past few days, I've received messages from several new creatives expressing how they’ve already found a few creatives to collaborate with and also asking if this will be a monthly event. Well, based on the positive feedback I've received so far, I can honestly say that these nights are crucial. Therefore, we'll be making plans to have them a monthly event starting in the new year.

I want to thank everyone who attended the event Our Hosts Competent and our very own Abbey Fitzhenry, and not forgetting a special thanks to the guest panel. Their insights were so informative, even for someone like me who is still learning. It's a reminder that learning never stops, and networking is more valuable than sitting in a classroom because you're gaining insights from those actively doing it, bringing a huge amount of experience to the table.

if you missed out on Sunday's mix-up, no worries! Make sure to catch the next one. It's a great opportunity to hang with people who share your creative ideas , connect, collaborate, and just have a good time. Seriously, networking is the name of the game. It's been a game changer for me, and I guarantee it'll do wonders for you too. Don't be shy, step out, and start mingling. Whether it's at the arts bar or any spot where  creatives gather, you're bound to make some connections.
