We are excited to launch The Uproar Festival With our Mix Up. The Mix Up is an amazing event for actors, writers, directors and any creatives in Liverpool. We bring our city's artists together for a night of live music, free food, guest speakers, prize raffles and a whole lot of networking. It’s your chance to meet people in your field and get to know what they’re all about.

The Liverpool John Moores University Drama Department proudly presents the UPROAR Festival 2025!

​A vibrant and celebratory festival where emerging artists raise their voices in the creative heart of Liverpool.

​From 29th April – 9th May, join us as UPROAR’s artists transform The Joe H Makin Building, The John Foster Drama Studio, and the surrounding community into a hub of bold, imaginative expression.

​With a diverse line-up of shows and an inclusive atmosphere, UPROAR provides a vital platform for emerging performers to tackle social issues and explore themes of identity, growth, relationships, and even procrastination. From original works to fresh adaptations, expect to laugh at our comedies, cry at our dramas, and leave buzzing with inspiration.

​This year’s festival is particularly special as we bid farewell to the Joe H Makin building, a space that has nurtured creative minds for over 30 years. Join us in celebrating its legacy with performances that honour its history and the generations it has shaped.
